Niko the cat has become very attached to his portrait and his family often finds him sitting next to it! I take that as a wonderful compliment. For this portrait, I used charcoal to get the very dark black coat, and colored pencil to showcase Niko’s amazing green eyes.
My friend Andrea Hibbs took this photo in her own yard in McKinney, Texas! I found myself smiling often as I drew this sweet face. Although this bunny is not a pet, it’s a joy to draw or paint wildlife that reminds us of home!
